Our Mission

To support the development of a worldwide entrepreneurship eco-system by providing the tools and resources to help small businesses thrive and grow. To achieve this mission we partner with the key stakeholders in their success: entrepreneurs, government agencies, Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs), small business development professionals, private sector business advisors and supplier diversity professionals.

Entrepreneurship Advantage, Inc. has over 25 years of experience in small business development, including teaching entrepreneurship, policy advocacy, and consulting and training for organizations that accelerate entrepreneurial activity.

The Business Advantage Tool: Your Roadmap to Business Success

As we all know, 99% of all businesses in the US are small businesses. While big businesses have lost jobs over the last several years, the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has calculated that new entrepreneurial businesses created 3.5 million new jobs a year between 1997 and 2008, with 1 million of those jobs going to paid employees, and 2.5 million to the entrepreneurs themselves.

While entrepreneurship continues to drive our economy, many entrepreneurs and their stakeholders lack the resources and tools they need to succeed. Disturbingly, 20% of start-up businesses fail in their first year while 60% of established businesses fail in their sixth year. In our experience the key reasons are a lack of sound financial management and access to capital.

Our Business Advantage Tool empowers all the entrepreneurship stakeholders to close this gap! This Excel-based tool will help you guide businesses through the process of developing a strategic plan for sustainable growth. Specifically, Business Advantage Tool will help businesses measure and understand their current financial condition, understand their business model and the key drivers of profitability. In addition, businesses can test the impact of different scenarios and alternatives to determine which path will result in sustained growth.
